Environmental group, The Cairngorms Campaign, has failed in its legal challenge regarding four major housing developments for Cairngorms National Park.
According to the BBC, the group opposed plans for 1,500 homes at An Camas Mor, 117 homes at Carrbridge, 300 homes at Kingussie and 40 homes at Nethy Bridge, but in a statement released by the group, it said its challenge had been unsuccessful.
The organisation were appealing against a legal judgement that rejected a previous court challenge to the local plan, claiming the major developments were a threat to wildlife. It added that a thorough environmental and ecological assessment of the impact of the plan had not been undertaken.
But Lady Paton, sitting with Lady Smith and Lord Bracadale, rejected the appeal.
Judge Lord Glennie rejected the Cairngorms Campaign's challenge last year but the group appealed against his decision.
The Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA) had instructed its lawyers to seek an urgent disposal of the appeal to avoid further delays to the implementation of the local plan.
