A total of 48 socially rented homes are to be built on the site of the former Alva Academy.
The news comes after the council agreed to sell the land to developers.
Earlier this year, the Clackmannanshire Council approved two reports aimed at stimulating the local economy. This included marketing the development of the former Alva Academy site.
The developer, Tigh Grian Limited, has now managed to secure available Scottish Government grant funding for the project through the Greener Home Innovation Scheme, which amounted to just more than £2.2m.
Last week, the local authority agreed to sell the land at Queen Street, Alva, to the developers for £1 with the condition that the Council is granted full nomination rights. It is hoped the deal will help help regenerate the town and the wider Clackmannanshire area in the long term.
Tigh Grian Limited are keen to roll-out the environmentally innovative technology and construction methods in delivering a larger affordable social housing project in partnership with a Housing Association in Alva.
The bid for the development is focused on delivering a range of one-bedroom four-in-a-block cottage flats, and two-bedroom semi-detached houses. Plans for the site are currently being finalised.
