Plans to regenerate a town centre in East Ayrshire are to be unveiled.
The proposals for Galston town centre are due to be revealed at the public launch of the area's new Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) next week.
Galston has a number of buildings of historic and architectural value, but due to weathering and the prohibitive costs of repairs, the buildings have fallen into a state of disrepair.
However, as part of the CARS project, it will offer grant assistance, support and advice to building owners, therefore enabling them to carry out repairs to the buildings and make them fit for use.
All work must be carried out by experienced contractors and by using traditional methods suitable for older buildings, and will include making the properties wind and water tight, repairing roofs, guttering and windows.
Councillor Jim Buchanan, Spokesperson for Delivering Community Regeneration, East Ayrshire Council said: "We've already enjoyed considerable success working with owners to fund regeneration projects in Kilmarnock and Cumnock.
"CARS helps businesses and residential owners to conserve their premises and also creates and sustain jobs in the building industry. We're very pleased now to be able to do something similar in Galston. With the Community Development Trust we're working very closely with people and business in Galston to ensure that our regeneration projects are delivered in the best possible way for the people and the future of the town."
The project is jointly funded by East Ayrshire Council and Historic Scotland.
The launch takes place at Galston Community Centre on Monday.
