Work is to begin on a new care home for Arran.
North Ayrshire Council is about to commence construction of the new £4.6m care home and resource centre in Brodick, which will replace the existing Montrose House and Stronach day services.
The investment is expected to provide 30 residential places for vulnerable older people in the care home, as well as creating a resource centre to support older people to remain in their own homes.
Islanders are being given the opportunity to see the plans and design of the new building, along with timescales and benefits to the community, during a series of information sessions organised by the Council and its partners.
Residents will also be given the chance to speak to officers from the Council, NHS Ayrshire and Arran, the Third Sector and Independent sector.
Each session is to run from 18.45 - 20.45pm.
Members of the public can 'drop-in' between these times. The dates and venues are as follows:
Wednesday 13 February - Brodick Hall
Thursday 14 February - Kinloch Hotel
Friday 15 February - Lochranza Hall
Monday 18 February - Kilmory Hall
Councillor Anthea Dickson, Cabinet Member for Social Services and Health, said: "This is a significant investment in care for older people on Arran. One of our key priorities is to support older people stay in their own homes for as long as possible.
"The development of a new resource centre at Montrose House will enable us to focus on assisting those residents who can, with support, stay in their homes, while the new care home will provide improved residential care for older people on the island."
