Ramsay Court, the remaining tower block of flats in Kincardine, Fife, is to be demolished to make way for 16 mid-market rent homes to be built by Kingdom Housing Association.
Discussions are currently ongoing about the future use of the rest of the site.
The demolition of Ramsay Court will take place on Sunday 10 March.
The two other tower blocks in Sandeman and Kincairne Courts were demolished in June 2010.
Ramsay Court is to be demolished using controlled explosives and will provide a further change to the village’s skyline.
Councillor David Ross, Executive Spokesperson for Housing, Communities and Local Services said: "The demolition in 2010 paved the way for 65 new Kingdom Housing Association properties to be built in the area. These now offer tenants, many of whom are former residents of the high rise flats, a much more fit for purpose and comfortable home.
"I look forward to seeing the remaining tower block, which has been vacant since April 2012, come down and mark another important milestone in the redevelopment of this area."
Preparatory work has been underway for months, including the removal of cladding and test blasts to help plan the demolition work.
Dem-Master Demolition have been contracted to carry out the work on behalf of Fife Council.
Operations are to begin early on the morning of 10 March, with demolition taking place soon after.
