A new £400m business hub which is expected to create up to 8,000 jobs over the next decade is to be built next to Aberdeen International Airport.
Miller Developments has acquired almost 93 acres of development land at Dyce Drive, Aberdeen.
Planning was granted in November 2012 for the scheme, which amounts to 1.4m sq. ft. of office, industrial and distribution space.
This makes it one of the biggest office and industrial developments in Scotland for many years.
Miller is also investing substantially in the infrastructure required for the site, to help make it immediately available for potential occupiers. Work on the infrastructure is due to commence this month.
The new hub will be located between Aberdeen International Airport to the north and the A96(T) to the south, meaning it will benefit from transport connections.
The development will also be positioned to have access onto the new Airport Link Road connecting the Airport with the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR).
David Milloy, joint managing director, Miller Developments, said: "This acquisition demonstrates our confidence in the market and Aberdeen in particular. As the economy in Aberdeen continues to thrive and with the welcome news that the AWPR is proceeding, we believe the site is the perfect location to create a brand new area for business, servicing the city and beyond.
"With superb accessibility, planning consents in place and our investment in the necessary infrastructure, we are confident this will be an exciting proposition for businesses looking for a new or expanded base in Aberdeen.
"As a result, we have already had interest in the development from companies both within Aberdeen and abroad, and are confident of announcing our first deals with occupiers in the near future. We will continue to work closely with Aberdeen City Council and Transport Scotland as we move the development forward."
