About £200,000 has been allocated to local groups in the latest round of Inverclyde Council’s Community Facilities Fund.
Successful applications include £41,000 to revamp the community centre in Quarriers Village, £37,500 to go on changing facilities at East End United Boys Club and £37,950 to refurbish premises for a new service for children with autism.
Environment & Regeneration Convener Councillor Michael McCormick said: "I am delighted that we have been able to distribute such a significant sum. Careful consideration was given to each and every application and I know this money will do a lot of good in our communities and will allow groups to build on the fantastic work they already do.
"We have had some really positive feedback from people who were successful in the first round of grants. They agree the money has made a significant difference and allowed them to undertake a far wider range of projects than they would have been able to otherwise."
In the first phase of awards, nine local groups were allocated over £172,000, including money to develop facilities and disabled access at Wellington Allotment Gardens.
