Plans to develop a beachfront pavilion at Broughty Ferry in Dundee have been given the seal of approval.
The news follows a study commissioned by the Broughty Ferry Development Trust which found last month that the group faced "high risks in relation to funding" of the £2.7m project.
The Trust has decided to go ahead with the project, however, after deciding it would be possible to raise the money needed.
The new development will be located be to the east of Broughty Castle and would back onto the beach and Castle Green.
The facility could include a cafe, shop and changing facilities and it is estimated it could attract as many as 66,000 visitors a year.
Trust Chairman John Dobbie, said: "It is very high risk and a huge challenge, but we aren’t put off by that.
"If you thought like that you would never get anything done. If we are determined to get something to happen, then it can happen.
"We want to carry on pursuing it. Hopefully with this meeting we can kick on and get into gear. It’s a big step."
