Mr Morrison is set to begin work in the Inverclyde area, however as his apprenticeship continues he will be given the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across Scotland to increase the range of work experience gained.
The apprentice will also be attending Reid Kerr College, Paisley on a block release basis as part of his training.
A spokesperson for River Clyde said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for George to learn his trade working with a well established main contractor works across residential, commercial, retail and leisure sectors. This will ensure that he has a well-rounded experience when he completes his training."
Douglas Bennett, Managing Director from Morris and Spottiswood said: "Apprenticeship schemes are crucial; they allow us to support the future skill shortage within our industry that is particularly relevant within today’s economic climate where fewer opportunities exist.
"Our current partnering agreements with clients like River Clyde Homes mean we are able to create sustainable employment opportunities for individuals like George Morrison local to the areas in which we work."
