Pupils of a Primary School in East Ayrshire have been handed the key to their newly refurbished classrooms and upgraded facilities.
The 33 pupils of Littlemill Primary School and Nursery Class in Rankinston turned out in full force to witness the re-opening of the building.
The school has recently been undergoing renovations, which have seen Littlemill upgraded with modernised classrooms, a new nursery area and a modernised gym and dining building.
The school is now also boasting a new eco-garden and upgraded car parking area for staff and visitors.
While the refurbishments were being carried out, pupils and staff were accommodated in Drongan Primary School.
Local councillors Elaine Dinwoodie and Moira Pirie accompanied Councillor Douglas Reid, Leader of the Council, to hand over the key to pupils.
Councillor Douglas Reid said: "The work done on this village school is a very visible sign of our continuing commitment to investing in our communities.
"As a result of our school building programme, we now add to our educational establishment list another refurbished school with facilities to enhance learning and teaching for our children in the 21st century."
Graham Short, Executive Director of Educational and Social Services, said: "We are making a series of major capital investments in education – all of which will greatly enhance the learning experiences of local children.
"A number of other major school projects currently underway include New Cumnock Primary and Nursery and a refurbished nursery class at Muirkirk Primary School."
