Council workers in Midlothian are celebrating the end of the first phase of a multi-million pound housing development.
The last of 806 affordable homes has just been finished, completing a project that started in 2006.
£108m was spent on developments in Dalkeith, Bonnyrigg, Newtongrange, Gorebridge, Mayfield, Lasswade, Loanhead and Penicuik throughout Phase 1.
Phase 2 will see a further £60m invested, which will bring the council closer to delivering a total of up to 1500 new, affordable Midlothian homes since 2006.
The council is also celebrating the positive comments coming in from tenants.
74% of those surveyed saying they were either satisfied or very satisfied, compared to just 7% who were dissatisfied. Comments included: 'A pleasure to live in, spacious and in a lovely area' (Gorebridge), 'Overall very impressed with my new home' (Lasswade) and 'Very good development, high quality work' (Bonnyrigg).
The second phase will begin with the construction of 31 new homes and 32 Extra Care Homes in Penicuik.
