The public are to have a chance to view updated proposals for a proposed mixed use development at Countesswells, lying to the west of Aberdeen.
The new community, if successful, will include 3,000 homes, schools, shops and a GP's surgery.
The plans were revealed in June and a preliminary series of community engagement events held to consult on the Development Framework and associated Masterplan for the development. The firm has now lodged a Proposal of Application Notice with Aberdeen City Council, notifying it of its intent to submit a planning application for Planning Permission in Principle for the development.
The 165-hectare mixed-use development is being undertaken by the Countesswells Consortium, including Heron Property Ltd, Stuart Milne Homes and Ian Suttie.
Under the Aberdeen Local Development Plan, Aberdeen City Council must supply 36,000 new homes up to 2030.
The Consortium is continuing to engage on the Development Framework and Masterplan, and will also be going for Planning Permission in Principle for the site. The local community is being urged to contribute to this process and the Consortium will be holding an extensive series of community engagement events as follows:
Thursday September 6 - 3pm-8pm - Conference Room, Fourmile House, Old Skene Road, Kingswells, Aberdeen AB15 8QA
Friday September 7 - 3pm-8pm - Main Hall, Airyhall Community Centre, Countesswells Road, Aberdeen AB15 8AD
Saturday September 8 - 10am-4pm - Assembly Hall, Cults Academy, Quarry Road, Cults, Aberdeen AB15 9TP
The Development Framework and Masterplan, along with the PPiP, will be lodged with Aberdeen Council in late 2012. If approved it is anticipated that work will commence on the site within the next 2 years following any matters specified in conditions having been addressed. The development is expected to be built out over a period of 15 years.
