Proposals for dualling the A9 between Luncarty and Tay Crossing are to go on display to the public next week.
Communities along this section of the route will have an opportunity to comment on the proposals at exhibitions in Perth, Dunkeld and Bankfoot.
The exhibitions also feature information on the work Transport Scotland is currently undertaking on dualling the A9 from Perth to Inverness by 2025.
Transport Minister Keith Brown said: "The Scottish Government announced its intention to dual the A9 between Perth and Inverness by 2025. This is an ambitious target but one that underlines our commitment to connecting Scotland’s cities with a high quality transport system that will generate economic growth.
"Since 2007, we have already invested more than £50 million on improvements between Perth and Inverness. Transport Scotland is now working to develop a strategy for progressing the work to dual the rest of this vital lifeline route.
"Given the considerable challenges, planning will involve collaborative working across a number of key agencies and engagement with communities along the route.
"This Scottish Government has been steadfast in its commitment to dualling the A9 between Perth and Inverness and these exhibitions represent the next stage of the preparatory work that started nearly four years ago.
"It is vital we carry out the detailed design work that ensures we get the best solution for all concerned – maximising the benefits and minimising the disruption."
Dualling the A9 between Luncarty and the Tay Crossing represents an investment of a current estimate of £200 million and is just the first step in our plans to dual this road.
Meaningful engagement with directly affected communities and businesses is at the heart of the development of all of our major infrastructure projects and these exhibitions represent another example of this.
Views are invited from the public on the various dualling layouts that have been developed and everyone with an interest is encouraged to have their say.
The details of the public exhibitions are as follows:
Tuesday 31 January: 12 noon – 7 pm – Dewars Conference and Exhibition Centre, Glover Street, Perth PH2 0TH

Friday 3 February: 10am – 5 pm – Bankfoot Church Centre, Tullybelton Road, Bankfoot PH1 4BS
