Angus Council has moved onto the second phase of environmental improvements at East Greens, Forfar.
The first phase involved forming a path linking the car park to the steps at Victoria Street and to the play area via a bridge over the lade.
The wildlife pond surrounds were upgraded with adjacent plantings, and the existing stone lade was reinstated.
Work has now moved on to the second and larger phase of the project, costing around £90,000. Seats and picnic tables will be incorporated into this phase, the play area upgraded and equipment replaced.
Once completed, the park space will have been defined and a green edge created using hedging and trees. Daffodils and crocus bulbs are to be planted on the banking.
The project will run for three to four weeks during which time there will be some minor disruption for those using the park and the adjacent car parking facilities.
