Ogilvie Construction Scores SBF's Football Trophy

Ogilvie Construction's winning football team were presented with the much coveted Scottish Building Federation football trophy when they visited Falkirk Football Stadium on Friday.

Falkirk's Managing Director, George Craig presented the six-strong team with the trophy in front of the Club's new South Stand which Ogilvie Construction completed for the Club last month. The stand, which took 32 weeks to construct, comes as a welcome boost to the Club's supporters.

The Ogilvie Construction team was crowned winner of the Scottish Building Federation’s annual 6-aside football championship after seeing off tough competition from other SBF member companies. The competition which took place earlier this summer at McDiarmid Park in Perth was attended by around 100 supporters with seven teams from across Scotland taking part.

Douglas McLaren, the Captain of Ogilvie Construction’s team said: "We're delighted to receive the Scottish Building Federation’s football trophy.

"The tournament was fantastic and not only did the team play well against some tough competition but it was a social event which let us catch up with colleagues from the construction industry across Scotland. We’ll definitely be back again next year to defend our title."

Michael Levack, Chief Executive of the Scottish Building Federation, said: "This is a great opportunity to show how football and our members' work can combine. The tournament was a huge success with Ogilvie Construction a worthy winner. It is also encouraging to see projects like the South Stand being successfully completed – especially in these difficult economic conditions."

Work started on the South stand in December last year and was completed last month.
