Road resurfacing on the A702 at West Linton will take place over six nights from Monday 9 to Friday 13 November, and on Monday 16 November 2026, requiring overnight closures.
Transport Scotland's operating company, BEAR Scotland, will deliver the scheme.
For safety, the A702 will be closed each night between 19:30 and 06:00 between Melbourne Crossroads at the A721 junction and Bush Loan Road at Easter Howgate.
A signed diversion suitable for trunk road traffic will operate between Melbourne Crossroads and Easter Howgate via the A721, the A701 through Penicuik to Gowkleymoss Roundabout, and Bush Loan Road. This route is expected to add around 3.2 miles and nine minutes to journeys.
A local diversion for West Linton traffic will be available via the B7059 Station Road from the A701.
Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times, with local access permitted where it is safe to do so.
Relevant stakeholders have been consulted in advance to highlight the traffic management arrangements and help minimise disruption.
