Plans for a 1,014-space car park on land next to Aberdeen Airport have been earmarked for approval.

The site, at Newton Cottage Farm in Dyce, is agricultural land currently used for grazing. The airport passenger terminal lies to the north-west of the site, the aircraft stands to the north, and the southern end of the main runway and taxiways lie to the east.

The application, which is to go before the city council's planning committee on 23 April, seeks permission for a change of use from agricultural land to a surface car park.

The plans show an indicative car parking layout for 1,014 spaces, including 38 disabled spaces at the end closest to the airport terminal.

Planners have recommended that the application is approved by the committee, on conditions including: the car park is used only by Aberdeen Airport staff, and airport passengers and visitors. The car park will only be used unless a shuttle bus service between the car park and main passenger terminal at the airport is provided.
