Lovell has been chosen to undertake a £3.49m tower block refurbishment scheme in Cambuslang, Glasgow, for West Whitlawburn Housing Co-operative.
The improvement programme will see Lovell overclad the 12-storey Roslin Tower - which houses 72 flats - on the West Whitlawburn estate with a new aluminium rainscreen cladding system. The scheme also includes the installation of a new aluminium roof.
In addition, Lovell will decorate internal communal areas and replace kitchens and bathrooms at six flats on the top floor of the high-rise.
Work on the refurbishment programme is set to be completed in February 2010. Lovell will liaise closely with residents and West Whitlawburn Housing Co-operative to ensure the work goes ahead smoothly and with the minimum of disruption.
The contract with West Whitlawburn was negotiated following the successful completion by Lovell of a similar refurbishment scheme for the housing association at the nearby Kintore Tower block of flats.
Paul Farrell, West Whitlawburn Housing Co-operative director, said: "This modernisation scheme will help deliver major benefits for residents living at Roslin Tower. We look forward to working with Lovell to bring about these improvements.
"We are pleased to be continuing our partnership with West Whitlawburn and using our expertise in high-rise refurbishment work to transform a second high-rise tower on the estate," said Lovell regional director Alan Taylor.
