The upper deck of the Duke Street multi-storey car park in Hamilton is undergoing a £250,000 refurbishment involving concrete repairs and the installation of a new waterproofing membrane.
On completion, the exposed upper deck will be protected from the weather and sealed against the ingress of water and the surface will be enhanced by the introduction of a colour coded layout which will benefit both vehicles and pedestrians.
These essential works will take approximately 10 weeks as the project will be carried out in phases to ensure around 70% of the upper deck will always be available for parking.
The South Lanarkshire Council has said it is aware of the inconvenience operations of this nature may cause so every effort has been made to ensure the work, which is being carried out by Mackenzie Construction Limited, is completed as quickly as possible.
