The Federation of Master Builders (FMB) has launched entries for the 2027 Master Builder Awards, inviting members across the UK to submit their projects and achievements now.
Entry is free for all FMB members. Any Master Builder who can demonstrate quality craftsmanship, exceptional customer service or outstanding building work is eligible to put their name forward.
All nominees will automatically be considered for the top prize: a brand-new FOTON Tunland pick-up truck worth over £42,000, provided by headline sponsor FOTON.
FOTON, the Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer, is preparing to introduce its all-purpose FOTON TUNLAND to the UK in early 2027. Positioned as a fresh option in the pick-up market, the TUNLAND combines rugged capability, advanced technology and refined day-to-day driving. It will be the first FOTON model available in the UK, offering the stance of a bold full-size pick-up alongside a comfort-focused interior and contemporary design, with versatility for professional use, family needs and weekend adventures.
The Awards also give homeowners a voice. Clients can nominate their favourite Master Builder, an individual tradesperson, a team, or an exceptional apprentice, so members are encouraged to let clients know that nominations are open.
Regional and UK nations ceremonies will take place next spring. Finalists will then compete for the national titles at a ceremony on 24 September at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, hosted by TV presenter Nick Knowles.
Brian Berry, Chief Executive, Federation of Master Builders, said: "I strongly encourage every FMB Master Builder company to enter our Awards. Your work deserves recognition, and the Awards are your chance to show homeowners the standard they should expect. If you're not already a member, there is still time to join and be eligible."
George Wallis, Head of Marketing, FOTON UK said: "We are proud to support the Master Builder Awards and celebrate shared values such as craftsmanship, strength and user-led innovation. With FOTON set to launch the TUNLAND pick-up in early 2027, the winner of the Awards will be one of the first to experience this new pick-up conceived not only for the demands of the working day, but also for longer journeys, adventure and everyday driving."
Nick Knowles, presenter and broadcaster said: "Great building work deserves to be recognised, and if you're proud of what your businesses achieved, we want to hear about it. I'm Nick Knowles, and I'll be hosting the Federation of Master Builders 2027 Master Builders Awards, celebrating the skill, dedication, and hard work of builders right across the UK.
"Through my work on building sites, I've seen firsthand the difference brilliant builders can make. We hear plenty about cowboy builders, but it's time we celebrated those doing things right. Homeowners deserve confidence in who they hire, and good builders deserve recognition. That's why the FMB champions higher standards across the industry and why these awards matter. The Master Builder Awards put exceptional projects, businesses, and people in the spotlight from shortlisted entries to the prestigious national finals.
"Winning could help your business stand out, build customer trust and attract new work. And the overall Master Builder of the year will drive away in a brand new FOTON Tunland V9 pickup truck. Not bad. Aye? to enter you need to be an FMB member, and honestly, joining the FMB is one of the smartest investments small building businesses can make. As well as the chance to win an award, membership gives you access to expert advice, business support, trade discounts, and the trusted FMB badge that helps you stand out.
"Whether it's a project you're proud of, your business, or someone who's gone above and beyond, don't underestimate what you've achieved. Put forward your entry and let the judges decide. Entries close on January 8, 2027. Head to the FMB website and get entering. I'll see you at the awards!"
