A three-part careers video series highlighting the breadth of roles in offshore wind has been released, featuring two members of the Inch Cape team.
Developed by Energy Skills Partnership for the Scottish Offshore Wind Energy Council (SOWEC), and supported by Inch Cape and Montrose Port Authority, the films are aimed at school pupils, college and university students, graduates, career changers and anyone interested in opportunities across the sector.
Inch Cape’s James Whittaker, Marine and Quayside Coordinator based at the Coordination Centre at Montrose Port, outlines how he started his career at sea, built valuable marine experience and brought those skills ashore to his current role, underlining how maritime expertise supports the energy transition.
Fellow team member James Robinson, the project’s Wind Turbine Engineer, also appears, detailing his path into offshore wind and sharing insights from working on Inch Cape — the largest offshore wind farm currently under construction in Scotland — while discussing the opportunities and rewards the industry offers.
A third film features Dundee & Angus College’s Christopher and Ashleigh, charting their journey from engineering studies to apprenticeships with Vestas, with Inch Cape expected to be their workplace upon completing their training.
The videos are available on SOWEC’s Skills for Offshore Wind portal and on Inch Cape’s video gallery page.
