Councillors will consider plans for a comprehensive survey of all Dundee City Council housing.
A tender to inspect 100% of the council’s 12,645 social homes, including internal and external elements and common parts, is to go before the Neighbourhood, Housing and Communities Committee.
Approval is being recommended for a £1,141,410.00 contract with Hardies over two years, with options to extend.
The work would produce up-to-date Scottish Housing Quality Standards (SHQS) and Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) data, and capture details of major components, including remaining lifespans.
The findings would inform future planning and help direct investment where it will deliver the greatest benefits for tenants.
Neighbourhood, Housing and Communities Depute Convener Lynne Short said: "This survey will give us an up-to-date assessment of the condition of all council properties.
"Having accurate information will enable us to make informed decisions on where investment will have the biggest impact for our tenants.
"We want to ensure that all council homes are safe, warm and fit for the future, and this survey will help us do that."
Eight tenders were returned following an open invitation through Public Contracts Scotland.
The Neighbourhood, Housing and Communities Committee will meet on Monday 26 October 2026.
