BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, will begin installing tactile paving on the A828 through Appin from Wednesday 2 September.

The programme will add tactile surfaces at key pedestrian crossing points, helping people with visual impairments to identify safe places to cross and navigate the route with greater confidence.

Works will take place between 8am and 4:30pm on weekdays, with completion expected by Tuesday 22 September. No weekend activity is planned.

To keep road users and operatives safe, temporary traffic lights will operate during working hours. A footway closure and a signed pedestrian diversion will be in place for the duration of the scheme, with all traffic management removed outside working hours.

Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained at all times.

Relevant stakeholders have been consulted in advance to explain the traffic management arrangements and reduce disruption wherever possible.
