BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to deliver two resurfacing projects on the A85 at St Conan Kirk, Lochawe, and to the east of Arrivain, west of Tyndrum, to enhance the road surface and improve safety for motorists.

The first phase at St Conan Kirk will run overnight on Monday 24, Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 August between 19:00 and 07:00, with all work scheduled to finish by the morning of Thursday 27 August.

For the safety of roadworkers and the public, the A85 will be closed during these overnight working hours. Timed amnesties will take place at 20:00, 21:00, 22:00, 23:00, 00:00, 02:00 and 04:00, when queued vehicles will be escorted through the site.

The second phase, east of Arrivain, will begin on Friday 28 August and continue on Monday 31 August and from Tuesday 1 to Thursday 3 September. Crews will work daily from 07:00 to 19:00, with completion expected by the evening of Thursday 3 September.

During working hours at Arrivain, a 10mph convoy operation supported by two-way temporary traffic lights will manage traffic. Outside working hours, traffic management will be lifted; however, a temporary 30mph speed limit will remain while vehicles travel over the temporary surface.

Access for emergency services will be maintained throughout both phases. Scheduled bus services will also be accommodated during the overnight closures at St Conan Kirk.

Relevant stakeholders have been consulted ahead of the programme.
