Clark Contracts has completed a major overhaul of the Category B-listed 250 St Vincent Street in Glasgow on behalf of Union Property Development, transforming the long-vacant former office building into modern student accommodation.
Rebranded as Glasgow Citi View, the scheme provides 142 student beds across 140 apartments, comprising self-contained studios, duplex rooms and accessible studios.
Each bedroom includes an en-suite shower room, kitchenette and dining space. Across the lower ground, ground and first floors, residents benefit from a staffed reception, parcel room, student lounge, study and meeting rooms, gym, laundry, storage, and a flexible bookable kitchen, dining and games area.
The programme involved a comprehensive strip-out and conversion of the existing structure, alongside external works including full replacement of roof coverings, stonework repairs and drainage improvements.
A standout feature is the atrium artwork by Efomural, creating a striking focal point that celebrates the character of the restored building.
Centrally located, Glasgow Citi View sits within easy reach of the University of Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian University. The project brings a listed property back into active use, delivering premium accommodation in the city centre and supporting wider regeneration.
The delivery team included FaulknerBrowns, Paragon Construction Consultants, MS Construction Consultants, Bellrock Consulting, Apex Acoustics, Rybka, Narro Associates and Jensen Hughes.
Raj Sehgal, Director at Union Property Development, said: "Glasgow Citi View represents a significant investment in bringing a vacant, Category B listed building back into meaningful use, and we're really proud of what's been achieved. Our design team has done a brilliant job of respecting the character of the original building while creating a warm, modern space that students will genuinely enjoy living in. Being so close to both Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian, we think it will be a great home for students during their time in Glasgow".
Gerry Cummins, Director at Clark Contracts, said: "We are delighted to have completed the refurbishment of 250 St Vincent Street for Union Property Development, delivering premium, modern student accommodation within Glasgow city centre. This project further strengthens our student accommodation portfolio, with over 1,500 student beds delivered across central Scotland in recent years, and reflects the expertise of our team in delivering high-quality refurbishment projects within busy city centre environments."
