Scottish Renewables has opened entries for The Scottish Green Energy Awards 2026, inviting nominations across 12 categories ahead of a December ceremony in Edinburgh. Submissions close at 5pm on Tuesday 8 September.

Nominations are open now for The Scottish Green Energy Awards 2026, billed as the UK's largest celebration of renewable energy.

For more than 20 years, the awards have highlighted achievements across Scotland's renewable energy sector, recognising excellence in innovation, project delivery, skills, sustainability and community engagement.

With renewable energy playing a growing role in economic growth, energy security and environmental protection, Scottish Renewables is seeking entries that showcase the individuals and organisations leading that progress.

Winners will be revealed at a ceremony at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) on Thursday 3 December, expected to bring together more than 1,600 guests from industry, government and civil society.

Nominations for the awards, headline sponsored by EDF power solutions UK and Ireland, are open across 12 categories including:

- Best Community Project Award (sponsored by ScottishPower Renewables)

- Best Engagement Award (sponsored by SmartestEnergy)

- Best Innovation Award – New Technology Products (sponsored by SLR)

- Best Innovation Award – Software and Services

- Carbon Reduction Award (sponsored by Statkraft)

- Champion of Renewables Award (sponsored by Fred. Olsen Renewables)

- Contribution to Skills Award (sponsored by SSEN Transmission)

- Industry Challenger Award (sponsored by Natural Power)

- Outstanding Contribution Award (sponsored by Nadara)

- Outstanding Project Award

- Outstanding Service Award (sponsored by Ocean Winds)

- Sustainable Development Award (sponsored by Boralex)

The shortlist for the Young and Inspiring Award category, sponsored by ESB, comprises the nine winners of the Young Professionals Green Energy Awards announced in August this year.

A Judges Award, sponsored by Global, will also be announced on the night, recognising a nominee the judges feel deserves special commendation.
