Clark Contracts has passed a significant fundraising threshold, collecting more than £30,000 for its charity partner SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health).
The main contractor has supported SAMH since 2020, cementing the relationship with a formal fundraising partnership in June 2022. Since then, employees across the company have organised a host of activities to generate both vital funds and awareness for mental health services nationwide.
Money has been raised through raffles, bake sales, an annual Halloween dress-up, sports-themed office fundraisers, participation in the Glasgow Kiltwalk and Tough Mudder, and the business’s flagship Spring Classic cycling event, now a staple in the company's fundraising calendar.
Recent efforts included a World Cup-themed fundraiser that brought in £1,000, and the 14th annual Spring Classic at Loch Katrine, which gathered more than 50 participants from across the construction sector and added a further £3,000.
Funds raised by Clark Contracts are helping SAMH to respond to requests for help and advice, support young people through life skills programmes and contribute to suicide prevention research across Scotland.
Gordon Cunningham, Managing Director, Clark Contracts, said: "We are proud to have reached the £30k milestone in support of SAMH. Mental health is an issue that affects individuals, families and communities across Scotland, especially in our industry, and our employees have shown fantastic commitment in supporting this partnership."
He added: "From large-scale events like our Spring Classic to team-led initiatives across the business, it has been inspiring to see colleagues come together to raise both vital funds and awareness. We look forward to continuing our partnership with SAMH and supporting the important work they deliver across Scotland."
