EBC lands Small Business of the Year Accolade

Managing Director Dougie Bell has praised his staff after the Edinburgh Boiler Company (EBC) was named Small Business of the Year at the inaugural Scottish Business Awards run by The BusinessDesk.com.

The firm beat off stiff competition to come out on top in the category recognising companies with up to 50 employees.

Speaking after the awards ceremony in Glasgow, Mr Bell said: "To say I'm proud would be an understatement but great businesses aren't built around one person, they are built by great teams.

"Awards like this are never won individually. They are the result of a whole team showing up every day, working hard, caring about what they do and constantly striving to be better. From our engineers and surveyors to our office staff, managers and support teams, every single person has played a part in this achievement.

"What makes this award even more special is the level of competition. We weren't just competing against businesses in the heating and renewables industry. We were up against some of Scotland's best businesses from every sector. To be recognised on that stage and come away with the win is something we're incredibly proud of."

EBC was also shortlisted for High Growth Business of the Year, and Mr Bell added: "Since taking over as Managing Director, I've had the privilege of working alongside an amazing group of people who have helped shape EBC into the business it is today.

"Together we have faced challenges, embraced change, expanded into new markets, won big contracts and continued to push ourselves to improve.

"Most importantly, we've stayed true to our values and never lost sight of the customer. This award is recognition of that journey.

"A huge thank you to every member of Team EBC, our customers, our partners, and the merchants, who have all supported us along the way. This belongs to all of you.

"I am incredibly proud of what we've achieved but we are even more excited about where we are going next. The future is bright!"
