Renfrew Bridge Shortlisted for Major Architecture and Design Award

The Renfrew Bridge has been shortlisted in the Regeneration & Masterplanning category at the upcoming Scottish Design Awards.

Delivered as a core component of the broader Clyde Waterfront and Renfrew Riverside regeneration programme, the bridge reconnects local communities that have historically been separated by the River Clyde. The new infrastructure has been designed to support new movement, commercial investment, and public activity across the entirety of the waterfront corridor.

Conceived as both a vital piece of infrastructure and a distinct civic landmark, the twin-leaf opening bridge draws architectural inspiration from the industrial heritage of the Clyde. The project forms part of the long-term transformation of the riverbank while helping to establish a more connected future for the wider city region.

The nomination follows the recent milestone of welcoming more than one million crossings within the bridge's first three months of opening, underlining the significant role the structure now plays in the daily life and regional connectivity of the area.
