CCG (Scotland) has begun construction at The Mount in Glasgow city centre, starting the sensitive conversion of the B-listed landmark near Hill Street for Kelvin Properties.
Dating from 1882, the building first served as Glasgow's original Hospital for Sick Children before services moved to Yorkhill in 1914. It was later used by St Aloysius' College as its Music and Arts department.
Designed by Mosaic Architecture + Design, the project will create 21 high-quality build-to-rent homes, comprising 18 apartments within the historic structure and three mews-style townhouses on adjoining land. Completion is expected in 2027.
The scheme continues CCG's partnership with Kelvin Properties, following the start last year of a 134-bed student accommodation development on Kelbourne Street in the city's West End.
