BEAR Scotland has announced that essential drainage investigation works are set to take place on the A9 at Dunfallandy, located just north of the Pitlochry south junction. The project, conducted on behalf of Transport Scotland, is scheduled to begin on Tuesday 12 May.

The investigation is expected to last three days, with a projected completion date of Thursday 14 May. To minimise impact on peak traffic, engineers will carry out the works between 9:30am and 3:30pm each day.

To ensure the safety of both the site team and the travelling public, temporary traffic lights will be operational during the specified working hours. These signals will be removed outside of these times to help restore normal traffic flow during evenings and early mornings.

Steve Taylor, BEAR Scotland's North West Design Manager, commented: "These essential works will provide valuable information about the drainage system and clear any blockages within. Our teams will carry out the investigation safely and efficiently. We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these essential works. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information."

Emergency vehicle access through the site will be maintained at all times. Drivers are encouraged to check for live travel updates before starting their journeys.
