DM Hall Joins Scottish Agritourism to Bolster Rural Diversification

DM Hall, a prominent firm of independent chartered surveyors in Scotland, has joined Scottish Agritourism as a trade member. The partnership is intended to strengthen the professional support available to rural businesses seeking to grow and diversify their operations.

The decision to join follows DM Hall's involvement in the previous year's Scottish Agritourism Conference. During the event, the firm engaged with operators nationwide, observing the significant scale and ambition currently driving the sector.

Jennifer Campbell, of DM Hall's Rural department, said: "We are thrilled to become a member of Scottish Agritourism. Having exhibited at last year's conference, it was clear to us just how ambitious, innovative and forward-thinking agritourism businesses are across Scotland. DM Hall has long supported farm and estate diversification, but joining the network allows us to deepen that support and build meaningful relationships across the sector. With Scottish Agritourism's recent announcement of backing from Virgin Money, there is huge momentum building. We're excited to play our part in helping rural businesses unlock new opportunities, strengthen their resilience, and realise their diversification potential."

As a not-for-profit organisation, Scottish Agritourism represents the sector both internationally and nationally. It provides members with access to business development resources, peer networks, events, and lobbying support.

Laura Paterson, Manager at Scottish Agritourism, welcomed the firm to the network: "I am delighted to welcome DM Hall to the Scottish Agritourism network. As a not‑for‑profit organisation, we work closely with our members to grow and strengthen Scotland's agritourism sector, and the support of experienced professional partners like DM Hall is invaluable. DM Hall brings a depth of rural expertise, from valuation to development to estate management, that will directly benefit our members. We look forward to helping raise its profile across the network and seeing its team become an active part of our supportive community of rural businesses."

The scale of the sector's ambition was recently highlighted in an agritourism census, which revealed that participating businesses are planning £200 million in capital investment over the next two years. DM Hall's expertise in strategic planning and valuation is expected to assist these businesses in becoming investment-ready.

Both organisations are aligned in their goal to help rural enterprises diversify sustainably and build financial resilience, ensuring they remain fixed as thriving components of Scotland's local communities and landscapes.
