Clark Contracts has presented its Alan Calder Memorial Prize to the highest-performing participant in its Academy for the 2024–25 academic year.

The accolade was created in 2008 to honour the late Alan Calder, a Chartered Quantity Surveyor who joined the company in 2004 as General Manager for Small Works, Insurance and Maintenance.

From 2008 to 2019, the prize was awarded at Glasgow Caledonian University's School of Engineering and the Built Environment annual prize-giving to the top final-year student.

Since 2020, it has been run in-house and presented annually to the top-performing student from the contractor's award-winning Academy, with assessment based on academic achievement, attitude to studies, university attendance and feedback.

This year's recipient is Drew, who works within the Construction division. He joined Clark Contracts in January 2025 while completing a four-year, full-time BSc in Construction Management.

In his final year, Drew delivered consistently strong results across all modules, earning the prize, and after graduating last year was promoted to Assistant Planner.
