ETZ Ltd has formalised a strategic partnership with Powering Futures, following two years of successful collaboration providing mentoring and sponsorship to local schools.
The partnership is designed to deliver inspiring activities for young people throughout the North East, ensuring the regional talent pipeline is industry-supported, accessible, and aligned with the area's net-zero ambitions.
The announcement coincides with ETZ Ltd's support for the first Energy Sector Careers Fair in Aberdeen City, scheduled for late January 2026. This event introduces a focused approach to career guidance, moving away from traditional stalls in favour of small group breakout sessions. These allow pupils to engage in honest, in-depth conversations with employers about real-world roles in engineering, construction, and business finance.
Lauren Braidwood, Senior Skills Manager at ETZ Ltd, highlighted the importance of the initiative: "I have been involved with the Powering Futures programme for a number of years now and have seen first-hand how successful it is in building young people's skills and confidence. ETZ Ltd is proud to work with Powering Futures to inspire more young people across the region into rewarding, sustainable careers and help to power the North East's future, together."
By integrating industry experts directly into the classroom and careers events, the partnership aims to bridge the gap between education and employment. It focuses on developing the meta-skills and industry connections necessary for young people to thrive in a low-carbon economy.
As the North East continues its transition to becoming a global leader in energy excellence, ETZ Ltd and Powering Futures remain committed to securing the skills and opportunities required for a sustainable, Net Zero workforce.
