Improvement works on the A83 at the Rest and Be Thankful will resume on Monday 12 January following a planned festive pause, BEAR Scotland has confirmed.
The contractor, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, is restarting the next phase of its programme to improve resilience on the route.
From that date, temporary traffic signals and a 30mph speed limit will be reintroduced to safeguard road users and the workforce during the works.
The signals will first be installed at Cobbler Bridge to allow drainage upgrades and landslip barrier maintenance. Traffic management will then shift north to facilitate additional slope stabilisation, along with further barrier maintenance and emptying. Owing to the nature of the project, the temporary lights will operate 24 hours a day.
This phase is expected to continue into early summer.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained throughout, and road users are thanked for their patience while the essential works take place.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland's North West Unit Representative said: "These works are all essential improvements to ensure resilience of the A83 at the Rest and Be Thankful. We are pleased with the progress made so far and our crews will continue working with safety as our top priority.
"We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we carry out these essential works."
