Scottish Water has named its preferred partners for a new enterprise model designed to modernise Scotland's water and waste water infrastructure, aiming to keep supplies reliable and protect the environment.
The programme is scheduled to run from 2027 to 2033, with the option to extend for a further six years. The announcement follows what the publicly owned utility described as the largest procurement exercise in its history.
The preferred bidders are Stantec and Aecom as Primary Designers, and M Group Water, Mott MacDonald Bentley, Farrans Limited, WGM Engineering, and Ross-Shire Engineering as Asset Delivery Partners.
Rob Mustard, Director of Capital Investment, said: "The Enterprise is the most significant programme of investment and way of working we have ever implemented. It supports our goals of financial sustainability, customer and service excellence, and going beyond net zero, all while contributing to a flourishing Scotland."
He added: "Primary Designers will be accountable for design across the Enterprise, ensuring that our designs deliver our outcomes, and Asset Delivery Partners will drive programme and project delivery, ensuring successful execution of capital works in line with those outcomes.
He also said: "Once the legalities are completed, we see these organisations working with Scottish Water to form our Enterprise, delivering a third of SR27 investments for our customers."
The procurement process began on 25 November 2024 and is expected to be fully completed by March 2026.
