Clark Contracts has hosted its Annual Health and Safety Awards Ceremonies in the East and West of Scotland to celebrate outstanding company-wide health and safety excellence.
The events, which were attended by all project teams, were hosted by the firm's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Manager. The ceremonies serve to provide project teams with a full overview of the company's health and safety performance throughout the preceding year. This includes highlighting examples of best practice and discussing any common issues identified, with the goal of minimising reoccurrence.
Awards were presented to both project teams and individuals who recorded the highest compliance rates during their site audits over the year, as well as those who went above and beyond minimum standards by successfully implementing innovative techniques.
The key awards presented at the annual ceremonies included:
• 4th Quarter Divisional Health and Safety Awards
• Project of the Year
• Contracts Manager of the Year
Throughout the year, quarterly awards are presented to the highest performing project teams across the four divisions: Construction, Housing, Fit Out, and Refurbishment. During the recent ceremonies, the fourth quarter awards were presented before moving on to the annual accolades.
The prestigious 'Project of the Year' award was presented to the team responsible for the 250 St Vincent Street, Glasgow project. This major refurbishment involves converting a former office block into high-quality new student accommodation. The project was selected because it successfully demonstrated a consistently high level of compliance across all areas of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Management, alongside the implementation of initiatives that went beyond the required standards. The site is notable for being logistically challenging due, in part, to its location in Glasgow City Centre.
The Contracts Manager of the Year award was presented to a Senior Contracts Manager from the Refurbishment division, who achieved the highest overall compliance rate across 13 projects managed throughout the year.
Clark Contracts places health and safety at the core of its business operations, a commitment underscored by its external recognition. In 2025, the firm was presented with a fifth consecutive Order of Distinction award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), following a record of 19 Gold Medal awards.
