Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has received planning approval from West Lothian Council for its proposed development at the former Brotherton Farm site in Livingston.
The approved plans will see the company deliver 293 new homes, with a firm commitment that 25% will be designated as affordable housing, reinforcing the company's focus on building thriving, inclusive communities across Scotland.
The new neighbourhood, to be known as Limefield Grove, will offer a diverse mix of two, three, four, and five-bedroom homes designed to appeal to a wide range of buyers. The affordable properties will comprise one, two, three, and four-bedroom properties, which are anticipated to be made available for social rent, directly addressing crucial local housing needs.
This impressive development will incorporate significant public amenities, featuring nine acres of open space. This includes the creation of a new linear park, an equipped play area, and enhanced pedestrian and cycle links. These green connections are designed to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding area, providing residents with access to Limefield Glen and promoting a tranquil living environment.
Pauline Mills, Technical Director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, stated: "Securing planning consent for Limefield Grove represents a significant investment in West Lothian, and we look forward to delivering a well-designed, sustainable development that complements the local landscape."
The project will incorporate industry-leading biodiversity measures, such as bug hotels, bird and bat boxes, bee-friendly planting, and high-quality biodiverse landscaping throughout Limefield Grove. Furthermore, each home will feature high-performance building fabrics to reduce its carbon footprint, aligning with Taylor Wimpey's commitment to environmental responsibility. Beyond housing, the project is expected to bring economic benefits to Livingston by supporting local jobs during the construction phase and stimulating local businesses.
