SSEN Transmission will hold its next public information event for the Orkney Link Project in Stromness on Monday, 1 December 2025.

The meeting is intended to provide an update on the construction progress and share future delivery plans for the critical development.

The event, which is open to all interested members of the public, will take place at The Robert Rendall Building, Orkney Research & Innovation Campus, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

Attendees will hear about key milestones achieved during the first year of construction and the plans for the next stages of delivery. The session also offers an opportunity for residents and stakeholders to ask questions directly to the project team and their contractors.

The Orkney Link Project is a vital infrastructure development, which recently celebrated its first year of construction. Once complete, it will connect Orkney to the GB high-voltage electricity transmission network for the first time. This connection is crucial for unlocking the islands’ significant renewable energy potential, thereby supporting Scotland’s wider transition to a clean energy future.
