ScottishPower, alongside its parent company Iberdrola, has been awarded the Women's Football Impact Award at the inaugural Global Football Industry Awards, recognising its long-standing commitment to gender equality and progress in the sport.
The prestigious ceremony, hosted by former England stars Peter Crouch and Jamie Carragher, celebrated the organisations driving innovation across the global football industry.
ScottishPower's commitment in Scotland includes a landmark partnership with Scottish Women's Football and the Scottish Women's Premier League (SWPL), energising the women's game from the Highlands and Islands Youth Challenge Cups to the elite professional level.
Globally, Iberdrola has reinforced its commitment to gender equality and inclusion by supporting more than 100 women's sports competitions worldwide, with its football support extending across Spain and Portugal.
Keith Anderson, Chief Executive of ScottishPower, highlighted the significance of the accolade: "This award is a huge recognition of our game-changing work with Scottish Women's Football and the SWPL, and acknowledgement of the contribution we're making to women's football alongside our colleagues across wider Iberdrola group. Together, we're working hand in hand with our partners to accelerate progress and equality for women's football in Scotland and beyond."
He added that ScottishPower is proud to be part of a movement that supports girls and women at all ages and stages of the game.
