The Inch Cape Offshore Wind Project took the opportunity at the Offshore Wind North East 2025 event in Sunderland to shine a spotlight on the significant role played by its supply chain from the North East region of the UK. With over 300 UK suppliers already engaged, the project emphasised that its success relies heavily on collaboration, innovative engineering, and strong engagement.

During a panel session, key suppliers provided high-level overviews of their vital contributions to the project's delivery, moderated by Inch Cape's Sue Vincent. The featured suppliers included:

Smulders (Stuart McMullan): Fabricator of the offshore substation platform—the Siemens Energy Offshore Transformer Module (OTM®)—and its jacket foundation.

Eastgate Engineering (David Brennan): Working closely with Smulders on critical facets of the OTM® delivery.

Enshore Subsea (Michael Hepton): Installer of the first export cable—noted as one of the world's largest AC cables—with a second cable installation scheduled for 2026.

Harlyn (Will Stephenson): Providing support for the export cable mobilisation from the Port of Blyth and managing the ongoing cable storage.

Also presenting was Chris Winter of Vestas, which is supplying all 72 V236-15MW turbines. He provided details on the company's involvement in Inch Cape and explained how local suppliers can engage with the project as the turbines are marshalled from the Port of Dundee.
