Taylor Wimpey Submits Final Planning Application For Dargavel Village

Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has submitted an Approval of Matters Specified in Conditions (AMSC) planning application to Renfrewshire Council for the final phase of new homes at the popular Dargavel Village masterplan in Bishopton.

The proposed development, located off Arrocher Drive, will mark the conclusion of Taylor Wimpey's contribution to the masterplan, which began with the first Planning Permission in Principle granted in 2011.

The application outlines plans for 315 new homes, offering a diverse mix of three, four, and five-bedroom properties designed to cater to a wide range of buyers. The mix includes 257 homes from Taylor Wimpey's new national range and 58 from its exclusive Caledonian Collection, encompassing both semi-detached and detached house types.

The design places a strong emphasis on sustainability and connectivity, incorporating several key features:

• Sustainable Heating: Every new home will include a sustainable heating solution via an Air Source Heat pump.

• Biodiversity: Enhanced biodiversity measures such as hedgehog highways, bee bricks, bird boxes, and bug hotels will be incorporated into the development.

• Connectivity: Safe and accessible footpath links will connect the development to the wider Dargavel Village masterplan, specifically transitioning from Craigton Drive.

• Amenities: Residents will have easy access to the recently opened Central Park (45 acres of green space) and the new vibrant village centre, alongside excellent transport links including the Bishopton Train Station park/ride and the new Bishopton M8 motorway junction.

Michael Findlay, Technical Director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, commented: "We are very proud of our key role in the delivery of the Dargavel Village master plan, and our latest proposal aims to complete our contribution to the master plan with a well-connected, sustainable community that not only provides high-quality new homes but also enhances the local environment and supports long-term growth. We look forward to working with Renfrewshire Council and the local community as the application progresses."
