BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, is continuing with rockslope stabilisation works on the A828 between Ledaig and Benderloch, just north of Connel Bridge. The project has now moved into a crucial monitoring period.

The existing traffic lights at the site will remain in place to protect road users and ensure safe access to the slope as plans for the final phase of stabilisation works are developed.

During this monitoring period, work will continue, including essential tree felling and the installation of temporary catchfences. BEAR Scotland will also undertake some scaling works at specific locations along the slope face.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, acknowledged that progress on the project has been challenging.

"Progress in this location has been challenging due to ecological constraints and complex geotechnical conditions encountered on-site," he said.

Mr Scott thanked local residents, businesses, and road users for their "continued patience and understanding" while the vital safety improvements are carried out and the next steps—including further rock stabilisation and the installation of protective netting—are planned.
