JR Scaffold has achieved a significant honour in its 30th anniversary year, receiving the prestigious Silver Award from the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).
The Paisley-based scaffolding firm was acknowledged for its outstanding commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community, which includes Reservists, Veterans, service leavers, and their families.
The company was one of only 24 organisations across the Lowlands of Scotland to earn the award. The Silver Award is the second-highest level of recognition within the ERS, reserved for organisations that go above and beyond in their support for Defence personnel. To qualify, recipients must have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, demonstrating a commitment to fair treatment and advocacy.
The award was presented by Air Officer Scotland, Air Commodore Mark Northover, on behalf of the Defence Secretary, at a ceremony held at the Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life in Coatbridge. Evan Horne represented JR Scaffold at the event, accepting the accolade on behalf of the entire team.
Mr Horne commented on the achievement: "JR Scaffold is immensely proud to be recognised as a Silver Award ERS employer. It was fantastic to attend the ceremony and meet like-minded businesses who share our values and commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community."
He confirmed the firm's ongoing commitment: "Building on our Bronze Award achievements, we'll continue to champion our status as a Forces-friendly employer, supporting the recruitment of veterans and accommodating colleagues who serve as Reservists. This recognition reflects our ongoing dedication to providing opportunities and flexibility for those who serve our country."
The Silver Award reinforces JR Scaffold’s reputation as a responsible employer, complementing its leadership position as the firm celebrates three decades of success in the scaffolding industry.
