Business owners in Argyll and Bute may now be eligible for Crown Estate funding to improve the appearance of their shopfronts, provided their premises are located within a conservation area.
The Scottish Government’s Crown Estate Fund supports coastal communities, focusing on areas such as environment, community, climate action, and economic development.
At an August council meeting, councillors agreed to dedicate £150,000 from the region’s total £800,000 Crown Estate allocation specifically to assist local businesses with capital improvements to shopfronts and buildings.
The fund is now open to businesses in the following areas to apply for individual grants up to £15,000: Bowmore, Campbeltown, Cardross, Cove, Kilcreggan, Dunoon, Tarbert, Helensburgh, Inveraray, Lochgilphead, Port Ellen, Rothesay, Tobermory
The deadline for applications is Friday 21 November 2025.
