Digital chemistry company Chemify is embarking on a major expansion with a strategic relocation to Glasgow's new, purpose-built life science facility, the Health Innovation Hub (HiH).
The company, which develops technology for pharmaceutical, biotech, and industrial partners, will occupy more than 40,000 sq ft across two floors, with additional ground-floor space. This represents the largest commercial letting of the year so far for life sciences in Glasgow.
HiH is being delivered by Kadans Science Partner in collaboration with the Living Laboratory for Precision Medicine, a programme led by the University of Glasgow. The flagship facility is designed to advance precision medicine technologies from the R&D stage through to commercialisation.
Chemify, previously based at the University of Glasgow's Advanced Research Centre (ARC), currently employs 165 leading scientists and specialists who will benefit from bespoke laboratories and modern workspace tailored to their needs at the new facility.
Professor Lee Cronin, CEO and Founder of Chemify, said the expansion marks an exciting new chapter that will allow the company to "scale up our operations" and continue to attract the best talent. He added that the move will help consolidate Glasgow's appeal as a "burgeoning hub for artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and the life sciences sector".
The Health Innovation Hub, which is set to open in Autumn 2025, is the first of its kind in Glasgow and is located within the Glasgow Riverside Innovation District (GRID), adjacent to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
