South Ayrshire Council's Cabinet has approved the submission of its Annual Assurance Statement (AAS) to the Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR).
The statement provides assurances on the Council's compliance with housing regulations and highlights ongoing efforts to improve services for tenants and other customers. It emphasises the Council's strong track record in maintaining tenant and resident safety, including progress on electrical safety checks and other inspections at properties where access has been previously restricted.
The Council continues to achieve high standards in responsive repairs, with emergency work completed in an average of 2.49 hours, well below the Scottish average of 3.9 hours.
Kenneth Dalrymple, Assistant Director of Housing and Operations at South Ayrshire Council, said: "We're very proud of our housing services and we continue to maintain a very high standard.
"Housing safety checks are extremely important and although we're achieving high levels of compliance, we're encouraging all our tenants to continue to work with us so we can get access to properties when required.
"We continue to gather equalities data on all our tenants to ensure their rights are at the forefront of what we do. We're encouraging tenants and other customers to provide this information to help us shape services to meet their needs."
