Thomas Johnstone Ltd has completed the fit-out of Ardbeg House, a new luxury whisky destination on the island of Islay.
The project involved the complete refurbishment of the former Islay Hotel in Port Ellen into a 12-bedroom retreat infused with the distinctive character of the Ardbeg whisky brand, which is owned by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
Working with Russell Sage Studio, Thomas Johnstone Ltd's manufactured joinery division created a wide range of bespoke items, including headboards, wardrobes, desks, and bedside tables for the three tiers of guest rooms. According to Commercial Director Kevin Pick, the team's contribution to the new hotel helps "create a space that reflects its unique legacy and spirit on the island."
In addition to the guest rooms, the project included the fit-out of a whisky cave, games area, courtyard bar, and a ground-floor restaurant. Every space was designed to reflect the rugged charm of Islay while offering contemporary comfort. The project adds to Thomas Johnstone Ltd's growing portfolio of high-end hospitality refurbishments.
