Essential ground investigation work is underway on the hillside above the A83 at the Rest and Be Thankful.
The work will involve the use of large cranes, ancillary equipment and a significant number of personnel to lift specialist drilling equipment into place.
The work requires the full width of the A83 carriageway to be occupied by the large cranes. For safety, this work will be carried out during daylight hours, between 8am and 6pm on Tuesday, 26 August and Wednesday, 27 August.
During these times, the A83 will be closed and traffic will be diverted onto the Old Military Road (OMR). Transport Scotland stated that these temporary diversions are key to maintaining safety for both the workforce and road users.
It added that it would work with the ground investigation contractor to complete the work as quickly as possible and to reduce the number of diversions needed, if feasible.
