Balfour Beatty is set to meet local businesses and suppliers at the Meet the Buyer North event in Aberdeen on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, to discuss contract opportunities on the Netherton Hub Energy Project in Peterhead.
The company is looking for a range of suppliers across the North of Scotland, including those in construction, maintenance, security, landscaping, transport, and catering. Supply chain opportunities on the project include brick and blockwork, painting and decorating, scaffolding, fire protection, and landscaping.
Jamie McGee, Balfour Beatty's Procurement Manager for Energy, said: "The Netherton Hub presents a significant opportunity for suppliers and social enterprises in the north of Scotland, and we are excited to come to Meet the Buyer North and discuss it in more detail."
He added that Balfour Beatty welcomes both seasoned and new businesses to stop by its stands at the event.
The Netherton Hub is a strategic development that is part of the SSEN ASTI (Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment) Offshore framework. The project, located to the west of Peterhead, will include a 400kV substation, two HVDC converter stations, a spares warehouse, and an operations depot and store.
Businesses interested in talking to the Balfour Beatty team about these opportunities are encouraged to book a free place at the event, which will be held at The Music Hall in Aberdeen from 10am to 3.30pm.
